The Department of Surgery’s Research Committee provides critical guidance regarding clinical and basic science research activities, including the Faculty Research Grant program supporting the development of innovative research projects by faculty. The committee also matches our research track residents with faculty mentors, assists with planning our annual Research Day Symposium and develops policies to align and drive research goals.

The Advanced Practice Provider Council's purpose is to support, promote, and serve the Advanced Practice Providers in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery. The council serves as a representative group for all Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) within the Department of Surgery. The Council is an arena for APP networking and mentoring, as well as policy and procedure optimization.
