About the Lectureship
The 草榴社区入口 Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy, the Houston Methodist Hospital System, and the Rice University Department of Philosophy are pleased to present this lectureship named in Baruch Brody鈥檚 memory. This lectureship recognizes scholars who have made important theoretical contributions to the field of bioethics. It honors someone in the field who embodies the values and virtues that were central to Dr. Brody鈥檚 scholarly life and work at the three sponsoring institutions.
2025 - 2026 Lectureship
The Baruch A. Lecture in Bioethics will be held on Feb. 4, 2026 at noon CST at the 草榴社区入口. I. Glenn Cohen, JD will present 鈥淎I in Medicine: Opportunities and Legal and Ethical Challenges.鈥 Professor Cohen is the Deputy Dean and James A. Attwood and Leslie Williams Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and serves as the Faculty Director, Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology & Bioethics. He is one of the world鈥檚 leading experts on the intersection of bioethics and the law, as well as health law.
